Colour Palette Functionality
Colour Palette Functionality

The currently selected colour palette is invoked through the Feature Properties dialog by left clicking on the coloured field square with RGB definition.

Selection of a different colour for a primitive is instantaneous and closes the colour picker. If the colour picker is pinned by use of the pin button image\col_picker_pin_button.jpg then it will stay open. This enables the user to look through the various colours available until the required colour is found or to add user defined colours. Additionally, each palette will store the last five colours applied to the feature in question.

images/proctool.bmpTo Change the Current Palette:

With the Feature Book open, select Palette | Import from the Feature Book menubar. A File Dialog is displayed, initially in the <MAPLINK_HOME>\config\Palette directory, where the standard colour palettes are available for selection. The dialog also defaults to the (*.pal ) files to show the standard palettes shipped with MapLink Pro.

If you wish to import a palette from within another feature book, select (*.fbk) from the Files of Type field and browse for the feature book containing the required palette.

When the Palette or Feature Book is selected press Open to import the palette to the current Feature Book.

Note that importing a new palette into a Feature Book will cause each feature in the Feature Book to be assigned the colour in the new palette that most closely matches its original colour. Since different palettes occupy different colour spaces, there is no guarantee that the original colours will be restored if the original palette is subsequently reloaded. Any rendering styles that you have already defined may therefore be irreversibly changed.

Remember however, that you commit yourself to the changes you make as you import into the Feature Book. You cannot therefore preview the effect of loading a new palette before committing yourself. This can be reversed by re-loading the project into MapLink Pro Studio without saving.
