Re-Cataloguing
Re-cataloguing causes the selected data file to be analysed and the catalogue File to be updated with the results of the analysis.
To update the Catalogue File
- It is not normally necessary to re-catalogue the data file; this will automatically be performed by MapLink Pro where necessary. However there may be occasions when it is necessary, such as if a new version of a data file has been created. Without re-cataloguing, MapLink Pro will not know that the file contents have changed.
- If re-cataloguing is necessary, select the data file and access the Data File Property Sheet using Data | Data Extent or click the Data Properties button in the sidebar.
- Select the Vector Properties tab on the Property Sheet and press the Re-catalogue button.
- Check that the Feature Analysis information displayed on the Vector Properties tab updates to give an analysis consistent with your expectations.
- You can also re-catalogue the data file without accessing the Property Sheet using Data | Re#catalogue.
