Terrain Datasets

AMapLink Pro Studio supports multi-resolution terrain fusion. DTED, DBDB-V and DEM terrain data can all be fused and optimised into one central terrain database, easily queriable via the Terrain API at runtime. Input and configuration of DTED0, 1 & 2 and DBDB-V formats are all supported making multi-resolution terrain coverage across multiple environments (Land and Sea) easy.

Digital Elevation or Depth Models (DEM) are also supported. As these are ASCII formats, they do not need to be a regular grid, therefore providing rapid access to the latest height information.

As with a MapLink Pro map extensive sets of projections and datums are supported so that it is easy to combine data originating from disparate sources, and to transform data into an appropriate output coordinate system. Layer resolution, interpolation and clipping of data gives you control over terrain querying ensuring that you get the coverage you require. The level of detail can automatically be controlled so that a terrain query is just as fast whether it is across a local tactical area, or across the whole world. Data can also be exported to DTED format, allowing further data rendering and manipulation to take place.
